NYC Mission Trip Update #6
Last Full Day in NYC 🗽🌆
Yesterday was a free day for our team to recover a bit and take in some sightseeing. Since it was a holiday, the city was full of people. With the US Open taking place as well, the subway was even more crowded than we had seen on previous days.
In the morning, we met up with Erin and Adam Bishop to visit a Hindu temple. It was heartbreaking to watch people offering tributes and worshiping false gods. As a team, we prayed that they would come to know the one true Lord.
From there, we made our way to a Chinese mall and food court where we sampled a variety of dishes including dumplings, ramen, miso soup, rice plates, and boba tea, which quickly became a team favorite.
The afternoon gave everyone a chance to branch out. Some visited additional restaurants with family and saw the Brooklyn Bridge, others explored Roosevelt Island and Central Park, and a few even stopped by Tiffany’s.
We ended the day by returning to our lodging to begin packing up for the trip home. Our hearts are full, and while we will miss the city, we are ready to breathe in the fresh mountain air of Blairsville.
This morning, we started our final day as we have each morning, with a time of devotion together. We said goodbye to the NYSUM staff and the friends we have made in the neighborhood. Soon we will be loading up to head to the airport and make our way back to Blairsville.
