Missions: Reaching Out Beyond the Walls

                                                                So, You Want to Go

Purpose of the FBC Missions Info for YOU!
We are excited that you are interested in joining with us in the task of World Evangelism. We want you to know that we want to stand beside and behind you as you go from us. We want you to take us with you as we send you out. The following core values are here to help you understand who we are and by that to know that we do not take likely our responsibility to you as your sending church.

Purpose of FBC in World Evangelism

To glorify God in obedience to the Great Commission by taking the Word of God across cultural boundaries and presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear it.

To increase our awareness of the current state of world evangelization and our participation in completing the Great Commission such that every member of First Baptist Church will have an active role in fulfilling the missions purpose of the church, either as a sent one or as the ones sending,
that the church as a whole will be actively involved in finding and identifying, training, sending, and supporting members of First Baptist Church for cross-cultural ministry.

The Local Church as the Sending Agent

The local church should be the primary sending agent of each individual missionary, and the relationship between church and missionary is of vital importance for ongoing spiritual growth, accountability, counsel, and support. The local church should be proactive in identifying, equipping, and sending missionaries, not reactive and complacent in its sending responsibilities. Also, the local church has the responsibility of being the earthly authority over those it sends out to be missionaries.
